BLS In-Person Course

Cost:  $17.00
Cost:  $100.00
The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider's course teaches those seeking professional level CPR training for victims of all ages.  This course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED in a timely and effective manner.  These skills include ventilation with a barrier-device and a bag-mask device, rescue breathing and advanced airways, use of an AED on adults and children, and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in responsive and non-responsive victims.  Written and skills evaluation are required for course completion.

For your convenience, we offer two ways to take the BLS Course.  First, the HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS in the comfort of their own home, and then they complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor.  The second option is to come to our facility and take BLS in a traditional classroom setting--this is the recommended choice for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.  Not only is the learning time shorter and cheaper, but you also get hands-on experience the entire time you are with us which is invaluable, and you learn about real-life experiences.  Either course is for both the initial and renewal student.

The BLS course covers

  • Adult, child, and infant CPR
  • Conscious and unconscious foreign body airway obstruction (choking) for victims of all ages
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and special considerations
  • Breathing barriers, bag valve masks, and 2-rescuer CPR
  • Rescue breathing and advanced airways
  • Cardiopulmonary emergencies and special resuscitation situations
  • Provides online access to the BLS Provider Manual (if taken online)
  • Multiple choice, 25-question exam to test cognitive knowledge
  • Certificate of completion available after the modules, exam, and course evaluation have been completed successfully
  • Students may access all information included in BLS for 24 months following activation of course (if taken online)

Intended audience for this course

Course Options

We have several options to choose from:
  • BLS Skills Only:  If you have purchased the online HeartCode key on your own and you just need to have skills testing performed, this is the option you need
  • BLS HeartCode Course & Skill Session:  If you are looking to take the BLS Blended course online and have not purchased the key, this package includes the key and the skills testing combined.  No other payment will be needed.  Once you complete your eLearning training and have printed out your certificate of completion with a minimum score of an 84%, contact us to set up a skills session
  • BLS Course In-Person:  Take your course in a traditional classroom setting with hands-on experience
  • BLS Course and Heartsaver First Aid:  Many healthcare positions also require their employees to have first aid training.  We can add that on and take care of it the same day you are here for an additional fee
  • Need a mask:  Masks just wear out from the elements even when not used.  Pick up an adult/child, and infant CPR mask for your personal use while you are here.  The soft case includes two different sized masks (adult/child and infant), a pair of gloves, and an alcohol prep.  There is extra space in the case for aspirins, glucose, bandaids, medications, etc if you really want to be ready

Select the BLS course you need from the five options below
