Heartsaver First Aid Course
Select the Heartsaver course you need from the options below
The American Heart Association's Heartsaver First Aid course is designed for anyone wishing to learn first aid basics including medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies.  The instruction includes topics such as respiratory emergencies, bandaging, bleeding, seizure, fainting, broken bones, and amputations, to name a few.  It is the certification required for many professionals including:  Child care workers, camp counselors, teachers, foster care workers, youth group leaders, coaches, and others responsible for children.

For your convenience, we offer two ways to take the Heartsaver First Aid course.  First, the HeartCode Heartsaver First Aid course is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality education regardless of where students are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace.  Students first complete the online portion of HeartCode Heartsaver First Aid in the comfort of their own home, and then they complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor.  The second option is to come to our facility and take the course in a traditional classroom setting--this is the recommended choice for Heartsaver First Aid.  Not only is the learning time shorter and cheaper, but you also get hands-on experience the entire time you are with us which is invaluable, and you learn about real-life experiences.  Either course is for both the initial and renewal student.

The Heartsaver First Aid course covers
  • Basic first aid including patient assessment, asthma, muscle and bone injuries, seizures, trauma (bleeding wounds), allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, and more
  • Provides online access to the Heartsaver First Aid Manual (if taken online)
  • Certificate of completion available after the modules, exam, and course evaluation have been completed successfully
  • Students may access all information included in Heartsaver First Aid course for 24 months following activation of course (if taken online)

Intended audience for this course

The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid course is deisgned for but not limited to:  Child care workers, camp counselors, teachers, foster care workers, youth group leaders, coaches, and others responsible for children.

The Heartsaver First Aid Heartcode online certification course includes three parts
  • Part 1:  A self-paced series of online training modules; 3 hours based on experience
  • Part 2:  Hands-On skill assessment with an approved AHA training center.  This includes basic first aid.  This is 20-30 minutes, based on experience
  • Part 3:  Receive your two-year certification with the American Heart Association via email the same day

  • Heartsaver First Aid Course In-Person:  Take your course in a traditional classroom setting with hands-on experience
  • Need a mask:  Masks just wear out from the elements even when not used.  Pick up an adult/child, and infant CPR mask for your personal use while you are here.  The soft case includes two different sized masks (adult/child and infant), a pair of gloves, and an alcohol prep.  There is extra space in the case for aspirins, glucose, bandaids, medications, etc if you really want to be ready
